Tribune: "Heavy penalty for dishonest officials" — Laurel's Ordinance No.30 prescribes life imprisonment for theft and fraud.

"Japs repeat attack on invaders" — in Tinian and Guam. Their garrisons "repeated gallant night attacks" on August 12 and 13. (Ghosts, maybe.)

The rumor here is that Japanese currency in Guam is worthless, and transactions made during the occupation will not be recognized. That's easy to do for a small place like Guam, but not so for the Philippines.
