Tribune: "Enemy loses 14 ships, 77 planes in Rendova." The Japanese are launching a "joint offensive of army and naval units against the enemy." Late radio news is that Rendova was fully occupied 48 hours after landing. The Allies also occupied Basa Bay in New Georgia, are attacking the Japanese elsewhere, and claim 101 Japanese planes downed against own losses of 17.

La Vanguardia says 53,000 will hear Guinto and Duran give an account of their trip to Japan to Neighborhood Association Officials. The number is known in advance because there's a list of people who have to attend — for their health.
