Tribune: In a new battle in the Solomons, the Japanese "sank and destroyed" six transports, three cruisers, one destroyer, and downed 31 American planes. No details of Japanese losses as the battle is continuing, but they admitted "part" of our forces landed in Rendova Island. "Laurel assailants taken ... Military Police arrest four men including leader" — one Genaro Marcelino. The rumor in town is that in the process of arresting the assailants, the Japanese shot and killed some 15 people. KZRH quoted a Japanese paper as saying that all East Asia was busy arming, including the Philippines. "We're unhesitatingly taking up arms," it said — a very rich lie dished out to us who know otherwise. |
