As part of Tencho-Setsu, 48 Filipinos were honored for collaboration. The Tribune named 33 or so, 9 of which were killed by guerrillas, including 4 of the 5 from Cebu. Guerrillas also killed the son of one and all the family of another. The article avoids stating the number of posthumous cases. The Japanese arrested the President and leaders of a Dapitan Neighborhood Association after 800 meters of wire were stolen from their district. The wire was replaced that afternoon, and stolen again that same night. Incidentally, Germans and Italians have been exempted from patrol duties. |
