Twenty Filipinos will go to Japan as pensionados to study Japanese for one year and "arts and science for two or more years." To pick these "future leaders," honor graduates and recommended Constabulary officials will take an exam today. Kodaki returned from Japan in mid-April with new staff to run Santo Tomas. The internees think Kodaki thwarted the Military Police's hopes of taking over the camp. Seems that Tokyo is satisfied with the treatment Japanese internees are getting in the U.S., and this helped Kodaki. |
