Tribune: "Prisoners May Receive Visitors." Perhaps not enough people have been writing. In the "Public Pulse" section, one brave Rosa Ong wrote a citizen's letter to the editor:

Sir: A few weeks ago the Tribune published an official list of fixed prices for soap and lard. I have been visiting several stores with a view of buying a quantity of these commodities. So far I haven't been able to get any fixed prices. Can you tell me where I could?

Of course, the Editor didn't reply. He was too busy concocting an elaborate Editorial on the Manila Shinbunsha Concert at the Metropolitan Theater tomorrow — "another eloquent proof of the noble ideals of Japan in this war."
