Tribune: "100,000 in Parade ... Japan's Victory Reaffirmed as P.I. Observes Anniversary." Splashes Column: "If 100,000 people can march together and feel satisfied, there is no reason why 17 million can't do the same." The "if" spoils it — they couldn't assemble 100,000 people for the parade. Free shows at the theatres today attracted large crowds, including Japanese soldiers. Someone remarked that there's more celebrating today than yesterday. |
