"Civic Body Organized" — the Kalibapi (Association for Service to the New Philippines). Vargas will head it and Aquino is Director General. The Japanese considered Laurel — even phoned a surprised Klingler for his opinion — he doesn't know him. A parade and ceremony celebrating the first anniversary of the war takes place tomorrow. Aquino will speak, and led by Chairman Vargas, "the assembly will cheer three Banzais." The ceremonies, which will take place after the mammoth parade, will open with the band playing the Kimigayo ... with all standing at attention. Then the assembly shall face north to bow in the direction of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. For the proper guidance of the assembly, managers of the program said that the assembly should execute about face, turning their back to the grandstand and facing the City Hall which is due north from the Luneta. |
