Tribune: "Japs launch offensive against foe in New Guinea" — a somewhat strange article of raids here and there to hide the real news — U.S. landings in Sansapor in the western end of New Guinea, near Halmahera.

La Vanguardia says General Tanaka was made a member of the Supreme War Council and President of the Army Staff College — the first we've heard of him in a long time. If he's alive then he probably was only wounded here.
