La Vanguardia: "Second Imphal offensive" — the Japanese capture two hills and a village.

A recent edition of the Mainichi has two items hinting of what conditions in Japan are like. An editorial regrets that a small section of the Japanese public had recently seen fit to launch a rumor against certain government officials. A March 30 article by Admiral Takahashi Ibo accuses a small section of the population of talking in a defeatist tongue. He exhorted the Japanese to have complete faith in Admiral Koga et al. Koga's death in mid-March must have been kept from the people or Admiral Ibo himself.

Three persons were recently killed in Caloocan, one in Paco and one elsewhere. The killings are continuing, perhaps even increasing.

News: The Japanese mentioned an American Task Force raided Marcus Island.
