Commentator: "U.S. Armed Forces suffer actual casualties of 1,600,000" — 380,000 dead, 570,000 wounded, 350,000 missing and 320,000 captured. Admirals Hart, Kimmel and Halsey, "must of course be included" — he thinks they're dead. As for U.S. claims of only 152,282 casualties, it's a product of "contemptible propagandists." Not true, very funny, and typically Commentator.

News: The British now admit the Japanese launched an important three-pronged offensive in North Burma. The communiqué betrays British fears that the Japanese could reach India.
