Tribune: "Everything set for Memorial Rites in Capas." In order to accommodate as many families as possible, each family of a dead soldier will get only one pass for the special free train. The provincial governor of Tarlac "has retained the services of 4,000 calesas and other horse-driven vehicles to furnish transportation." Sounds like a whole army is going up there. In fact, an army died there because it was denied medicines and medical care. ![]()
Pio Duran
Kalibapi Director General Affairs President Philippine Club Pio Duran was at the Astoria this afternoon for the first time in a long while. He took a back booth. Schaer, looking at him, said, "Hope they don't shoot him in here." I made two stock deals today, netting P300. Prices are firm and going higher. Earlier in the week, I couldn't sell 20,000 shares of Big Wedge for three days. Now everyone wants some — but it's too late. |
