Tribune: "Visit to Allies in Camp Banned." The Japanese don't like the idea that some Filipino and neutral families have rented houses in Los Baños to be near the internees. So, do you think they issued a proclamation prohibiting it? No, they get Vargas' Office to issue it. Rumors persist that the Los Baños camp will be abandoned. Meanwhile the Japanese aren't giving internees any breaks. The Francisco's plea that Mrs. Francisco (aged, paralytic, weak, and confined to a wheelchair) be allowed to stay at home to be properly cared for by her husband and maid, fell on deaf ears. Mr. Francisco was sent to Santo Tomas and his wife to Santiago Español Hospital. |
