Tribune: "224 Filipinos [POWs] are released" — after a 3-week course in moral and spiritual rejuvenation. At least they were fed. The Editorial is about Tanaka, but it doesn't clear the mystery of his whereabouts. There'll be no Tribune tomorrow or any Monday, "due to constantly increasing circulation and growing need for economy" [a shortage of paper]. Its size will be reduced too. Penny visited me at home and I showed him Confesor's letter. He had read it already — it must be all over town! |
