Kalibapi Seal*
Tribune: "Kalibapi finds masses eager to work for early independence." The pressure is on to get Filipinos on Japan's side; so far, every attempt has failed. First it was Japan's victories, then her impregnable defenses, the East Asian Doctrine, the Co-prosperity Sphere, and now it's a "Work for Independence" campaign. Aquino made a speech in Pangasinan: "I am pro-Japan because the Japanese Empire is the only country called by God to free my nation." Then he attended a Baptism where some poor kid was christened Kalibapi. In what the Japanese call the Naval Battle of Rennell Island, they sink 2 battleships and 3 cruisers. No one here believes them.
