Plenty of articles on the Independence offer. "Premier Tojo's speech draws worldwide praise." Germany, Siam, Nanking, Syonan and Hsinking comprise the world according to Japan. The Japanese have been asking the merchants for an inventory list. If they find you have more than you declare, your goods get confiscated and you get slapped (Ismael & Company). Meanwhile, prices of everything are skyrocketing, including sugar — and this is a sugar country. Much of it has gone to Japan, and what's left can't be transported. The radio announced a sudden blackout practice tonight. I should've told them that when the USAF comes it'll be at 0800 to hit the piers and ships. |
