Tribune: "General Tanaka finds people of La Union, Vizcaya, contented. General's party welcomed everywhere with shouts of Banzai.... There is peace and happiness in the face of every Filipino."

After several hours drive over [a] tortuous mountain highway, the party reached a pass while Japanese troops were on watch. There is no danger from guerrillas here, they said. Not one telephone wire has been cut in this region, almost a primeval forest.

The people there are just looking after their health, as the Japanese troops were looking after Tanaka's.
