Paul Meyer got a one-day pass out of Santo Tomas to visit his sick child. He said he works hard at his jobs there, listens to no rumors, and doesn't even read the papers — "They're full of baloney ... the hell with 'em!" With eleven internees currently pregnant, the Commandant hinted the camp would be segregated along the sexes and shacks would have to be open, which prompted one to suggest the Japanese wanted to peep. La Vanguardia says the Japanese "propose to annihilate the enemy" in Guadalcanal, but I note the landed Japanese troops are getting supplied by parachute drop. So who's trapped now? |
