Today's Tribune didn't go to town on the recent naval actions as I thought they would. The radio registration drive is in full swing. I registered my GE yesterday, filling out an extensive form, and today I registered Ma's radio, listing its condition as "temporarily out of order." Everyone is lying about the capability of their radios and what stations they listen to. For both radios I entered "listen only to KZRH." I listed the condition of one radio as "out of order from December 1941 to April 1942, using only 6 or 7 tubes since." A friend entered: "Rarely used; used only for phonograph records; never used on short wave; works on and off." Keller of the Swiss Consulate got an official document allowing him to listen to only Berne! |
