Saturday is the last day for registering radios but I'm positive that 19 out of 20 are still listening — to everything: KWID, KGEI, BBC, Chungking.... Manilans are starving for real news, eagerly counting the hours before the next report. This evening I'm actually tired of waiting! The Tribune news was easily dismissed: "Allies fail to open new front in Solomons." The Japanese lie so often that nobody believes them anymore.

Remember that February song contest? No winner was ever announced, but the Japanese will try anything twice so they're launching another Slogan and Song Contest starting on August 22. The prize is a magnificent reward of P30!
