Last day for registering typewriters — or having them confiscated if you don't need them for your work. Not sure if it's the last day for registering radios too. The Tribune explains that we can still listen to Japanese stations, but listening to foreign broadcasts "is strictly prohibited for the healthy development of the new Philippines." The ordinance permits the use of an indoor antenna of less than 2 meters to "facilitate listening." A prize example of their forceful grammar: As repeatedly mentioned, the authorities intend to give facilities to the public as much as possible and hereafter they will migrate the limit of receiving radio broadcasts by such acts that will popularize radio reception as well as by letting the public hear radio broadcasts through simple and economical receiving sets. (Meaning no range at all.) |
