Last Sunday's paper on the subject of those seeking information on POWs explained that the "Nippons have a different attitude": A revelation of the names would be the greatest dishonor that can befall the prisoners. Not only the individual prisoner will be in such ignominy but also his family will likewise be disgraced in the eyes of his countrymen. The Nippons figuratively closes its doors on prisoners who come back, because his presence at home will mean dishonor to his clan. |
