"Kalaw says collaboration did not help people" — in a letter responding to Miguel Tolentino's contention that collaboration was a matter of self-preservation. He cited a Japanese remark: "It took Japan more than four years to find a Wang Chin Wei in China, but it took them less than two weeks to find 34 Wang Ching Weis in the Philippines." He's partly right, but on the other hand, what harm did they do? And what harm is Kalaw doing by exploiting this political opportunity? |
