"Assembly Acts Today on Constitution." Camilo Osias heads a five-man committee to draft a resolution on its ratification. Since his son went to Japan, Osias' hair has turned almost completely white. La Vanguardia: "Constitution Unanimously Ratified." A picture shows the National Assembly applauding after Laurel's speech ... well, one of them is. Another picture shows Laurel speaking on the balcony of the Legislative Building, flanked by poker-faced members of the Executive Committee. Another picture shows the crowd numbered at the most several thousand, despite Mayor Guinto's attempt to get the Neighborhood Association to attend. The papers don't mention crowd numbers at all. |
