Splashes: "If we expect the hopefulness of Our Tomorrow together with the luxury of our yesterday, that's expecting too much." The Scribe explained that Japan is many hundred times richer than the Philippines, then complained that our standard of living is higher than Japan's. And that's the end of the "exploitation" propaganda angle; he's admitted we enjoyed real luxury prewar. I'm out as leader of our Neighborhood Association. Ding Manotoc takes my place though I'm stuck as "secretary" — doing mostly liaison work between Ding and the families. |
