Benny Gaberman talking about taking his radio in for reconditioning:

Damn it! My radio was working swell. I took it down and they asked me how it was. I said, 'Fine — long and short.' So they plug it and what the hell ... the damn thing shrieks and roars and farts and does everything but play. The bombing last night must have ruined it!

We all laughed — he meant the bombing of Berlin! I decided to mark my radio tubes to see if any get changed in the reconditioning process.
