Tribune: "Japan's ultimate victory assured by Col. Yahagi." So now we know! Actually, the news today isn't good. The Germans claim advances in Russia of up to 100 miles in the last 5 days, while the Americans have abandoned 3 towns in Tunisia. Stimson called it a "sharp reverse that should not be minimized, and much less exaggerated." The Scribe's column: We East Asians do not believe in discriminating against anyone on account of his race, creed or color. Although we desire to be fair and just to everybody, that does not mean we shall have our door wide open to enemies of our regional aspirations.... We are entitled to exercise our right of self-defense more today than at any time in our history.... We must finish the task by eliminating all other undesirable elements from East Asia. |
