Tremendous lack of war news in local papers — rumors persist that we'll soon have to turn in our radios so that the Japanese can disable the short wave connections. We'll feast on wild rumors then. A few in Santo Tomas already expect the Americans to have landed somewhere in the country; most others expect 1943 to be the downfall of Japan.
