Iloilo and Tarlac bombed for the second time. Heavy fighting going on now in Davao as the Japanese made their third landing in the country. It’s 600-miles from Manila so the immediate threat is not great.

The Japanese also appear to be in Hongkong although the fighting continues. Every day counts because the capture of Hongkong will release forces for Malaya and the Philippines.

Our helpless situation made for a gloomy afternoon.
